Reon

Description

Reon has a small land area in comparison with the other known lands yet has the highest population. The reason is that the folk of Reon are mainly tree-dwellers and the great willow of Salicsia, for example, has thirty-six levels, each having the size and population to match that of any city in the Known Lands. Its upper branches contain a maze of tunnels and chambers, many unexplored for many years.

The Worm Marshes cover the narrow waist of Reon and travel between south and north is best done by ship. Throrm Bridge is the only permanent crossing place along the whole of East Water and its ownership has been contested between Reon and Norg since ancient times. It is currently in the hands of Reon and its Grand Masters are determined that it should remain so. The bridge is heavily fortified, has a huge garrison and a fleet of warships ever ready to sail into battle.

Flainaire is the foremost citadel in the north and the watcher of Goruk, Norg's major coastal castle and sea port on the opposite side of the riverbank. Flainaire comprises a huge, fallen branch once infected with hordes of hole-drilling insects that were driven out when the importance of the citadel was realized. The halls and passages inside the branch were extended and the exterior was fortified. The citadel branch is now the centerpiece of a large walled city.

Salicsians - General Description

The Guard of Dunlin.

The Guard is commanded by Siskin Clubmoss. In battle, he rides a squat, black war beetle. It has razor sharp jaws which are covered with spider silk sheaths until the fighting begins. It also has sharp rose thorn spikes strapped to its legs. The beetle bears no device or caparison. It is highly polished.

The Warriors of Throrm Bridge.

Generally as Dunlin's Guard, but bearing reddish brown catkin devices.

Flainairians

Soldiers - Green surcoats, dark green shields bearing red catkins, lack leggings, yellow snail-shell helmets.

Warriors - Appearance generally as Dunlin's guard, though their shields were yellow and their device was a spray of red elm flowers.
